Bioanalytical Scientist

Job Description Summary:

Associate Scientist, Scientist, or Senior Scientist, Bioanalysis provides quantitative bioanalyses of biological samples in support of the clinical and/or preclinical development of small molecule products. The analyses may include those governed by FDA or other global health authority regulations.

The incumbent will work as part of Primera Analytical Solutions Corp. (PASC) Bioanalytical Service Department. He/She will be involved with LC-MS/MS method development and validation as well as coordinating and executing bioanalytical studies for various clinical / preclinical projects.

Job Description:

Associate Scientist, Scientist, or Senior Scientist, Bioanalysis supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.


  • Learns and enhances technical knowledge of LC-MS/MS method development and validation.

  • Is proficient in sample processing and sample analysis.

  • Receives specific instructions on assigned task and expected results.

  • Delivers accurate results on assigned tasks within the expected timeframe.

  • Understands the study and method, troubleshoots unexpected results.

  • Maintains study related record in a well-organized manner. All necessary documentation is recorded.

  • Performs routine calculations; tabulates, and records results.

  • Prepares accurate data summary with minimal supervision.

  • Complies with all safety rules, practices good housekeeping, and maintains safe workplace without supervision.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or closely related scientific field with 0 - 3 years related work experience or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in regulated bioanalysis of clinical / preclinical samples analysis using LC/MS/MS techniques is a plus.

  • Computer skills: knowledge of internet research, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Good time management skill in order to perform of multiple projects within deadlines

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in writing analytical reports.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in lab setting with exposure to biohazards / chemicals (common organic solvents)

  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE

  • Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels

  • Ability to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/ often / occasionally

  • Clarity of vision

  • Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motion
